Original publisher's light beige paper wrappers. Front cover features a black-and-white illustration of the late Wendell Phillips modeled after Sarony's portrait photograph. Leaves laid in loose. 11 1/2" x 16 1/2." Pages 85-100, complete. Black-and-white illustrations, complete. Three pages of advertisements, many of which are illustrated, in the back. Former owner's orange paper label tipped in on back cover. Pages and covers are clean and intact overall but have foxing in the lower-right corner, chipping along the edges, and slight age toning. A Very Good copy. Harper's Weekly was a political magazine that was published from 1857-1916. While its focus was politics, it included a number of general-interest subjects such as short fiction, poetry, artwork, and miscellaneous facts. Notably, it extensively covered the Civil War and was the forum of Thomas Nast in its heyday. The February 9, 1884 issue of Harper's Weekly. Much of this issue is composed of brief articles.
