Gutteridge, Professor H C (foreword) : Studies in Polish and Comparitive Law : A Symposium of Twelve Articles

Stevens & Sons, Limited, London, 1945

274 pages (complete). In some ways this book is a historico-legal curiosity. It largely refers to the development of law in a European country, Poland, that in terms of this volume only really existed between 1919 and 1939. The essays in this book date from this period. The book references the codifications and principles of the Declaration of Polish Government in 1942 whilst in exile in London. The book's somewhat whimsical appearance is explained by the understatement on the copyright page: "Technical difficulties due to the war have prevented us from adhering strictly to the original [publication] plan. This copy is benign and comfortable. The cover is worn and marked from handling and storage. It is secure. Within, there are previous owner stamps. The guttering along the frontispage is cracked but still secure. The pages are clean, clear, confident, competent and certain. fk. Book Condition: Used: Acceptable. Binding: Hardcover
