The announcement is printed as a letter and reads as follows: "To Our Patrons:-- We take pleasure in announcing the consolidation of the old and favorably known grocery house of Torrey & Gardiner and W. P. Wheeler under the name of the Gardiner-Mitchell Company. Our remodeled store is now ready for inspection and in it will be found a large, varied and carefully selected stock of choice groceries, suitable for the select family trade to which we cater. One of the new features of our establishment will be the Delicatassen Counter, presided over by a cook well skilled in this particular grocery art. We crave your indulgence for errors during the past month and beg to say that our delivery service is now fully organized, and we guarantee prompt delivery to all points in Oakland, Alameda, Berkeley, Fruitvale, etc." The announcement lists Mr. James T.
