A pamphlet with reprinted trial proceedings that address the religious conflict between Protestants and Roman Catholics. The context was that libelous publications were circulated by a "patriotic" group of Protestants who sought to defame Roman Catholics and the Knights of Columbus, a Catholic fraternal society. In one of these publications, members of the Knights of Columbus were accused of making a "fourth-degree oath" of disreputable nature. During the trial, the oath was found to be false, and it was concluded that the "fake oath" was circulated as an act of anti-Catholicism and to defame the Knights of Columbus.. Book.
