Recent blind-lined ½ morocco with marble boards, flat spine in six compartments of gilt bands and gilt floral motifs, red and tan morocco labels on two and four, gilt lettering on six, edges marbled, endpapers renewed. , Occasional minor browning otherwise very good condition. The plates depict various peoples, structures, and objects of early 19th-century Iran., Volume : Three Volumes.

Each volume bears 10 plates, all marked as published in 1822, and most of which are finely hand-coloured, except for the two plates detailing musical instruments. The plates provide very charming illustration to this pocket-size work. Unlike the copies listed in Tooley and Abbey (where the table of contents and list of all plates are placed in the final volume), these two segments are placed in the first volume of this set., Wilson 209; Tooley 515 (pp. 417-8); Abbey Travel 6 (13-14); NYPL Persia 22 (later edition).
