17 x 12 IN.. On offer is a super, massive pair [2] of University of South Dakota scrapbooks created by dedicated sisters Edith and Sadie Long. Each book includes an autograph section that contains approximately 8 pages of handwritten autographs from friends all dating from 1882 to early 1900s; personal mementos from school including photographs, postcards, and letters. Red Cross ephemera from making WWI comfort kits for soldiers; correspondence to them and the soldiers thanking them for their kindness; a hand written letter to a "lonely farmer" one sister was writing from a newspaper ad she found, stating, she too was lonely, now a school teacher with a decent bank account and looking for a relationship. There are many playbills from the college, report cards, dance cards providing a great look into the early times of college life in Vermillion South Dakota. There are some pages loose from their bindings and wear on some of the items. Both books are covered with black velvet fabric that now tends to leave black on everything it touches. The albums measure 17 by 12½ inches. Most of the items are G. EXTRA POSTAGE DUE TO SIZE.. Book Condition: Good
