This book contains numerous accounts of different churches and architectural styles used within but of exceptional importance to local researchers and historians are the many handwritten marginalia additions as well as a more concentrated and orderly section of handwritten notes at the end of the book by local writers and historians E. Hulbert and P.L. Smith. Also, it should be noted that many newspaper articles from the 1930's discussing various elements of the architecture discussed as well as the people and places of Stroud, have been tipped in to the text on publisher provided stubs. It appears from some of the dating that portions of hand written text were added in the 1930's as well. This is an extremely scarce and interesting historical account of a vast and culturally rich area of Europe.
