Scarce Second Issue; usually found in the fourth state., small 8vo. Publisher's light red cloth, recased and repaired, titles and decoration in gilt to front board and spine with gilt to all edges. Rather ornate blind stamping to front and back boards. Owner's name written neatly in ink to centre of front free endpaper with small sticker to top left corner, inside front board. Two pages of advertisements to rear of text. Beautiful illustrations throughout, including frontispiece and title page, by several different artists and engravers. Some bumping to corners, small loss of cloth to lower spine moderate general wear, occasional foxing. Still an attractive copy of an uncommon book.

A very nice copywith marbled page edges.
