The third issue of Darwin's first book, Freman F12, and according to him seemingly the scarcest of the three. (it is the second separate issue, the first being Vol.III of The Narrative of the Voyages of H.M.S. Adventure and Beagle, edited by Captain Robert FitzRoy). The 1/2 title is not present. A very good ex-library copy in contemporary 1/2 blasck calf, marbled boards, the binding rubbed and worn, usual labels inside board, numbers to title and verso title., the front hinge reinforced internally with paper. LACKING the two maps, else a clean tight copy odf the text.
