Conant, S. S : Autograph Letter Signed - S. S. Conant

Letter handwritten on beige paper in black ink. Harper & Brothers' Editorial Rooms stationery. Datelined March 16, 1882 in Franklin Square, New York. 5 1/4" x 8." One page. Signed, "Very truly yours, S. S. Conant, Editor, Harper's Weekly" and addressed to "Eugene L. Didier, Esq." Handwriting and signature are very clean and intact. Very slight tear at the top of the letter, but this does not affect the handwriting or signature. Paper is otherwise clean and undamaged. S. S. Conant was a writer and editor for Harper's Weekly and was well-known in his lifetime. He mysteriously disappeared in 1885. Eugene Didier (1838-1913) was a writer and editor of The Southern Society magazine. In this letter, Conant replies on behalf of Mr. Alder (?), who is also with Harper's Weekly, to Didier's suggestion about an article on Richmond. Conant says he will forward the message to him upon his return.. Manuscript. Book Condition: Collectible-Very Good. Binding: No Binding
