Slightly edge-worn with some minor nicks and tears with related creasing on top+bottom edges, slight rubbing with miniscule loss to three corners; top coner with approx 1/2" loss,dw/dj. Chipping and loss at head of spine/backstrip lightly,partially affecting the first letter 'T' of the title and to foot of same; loss of letters CRIME CLUB entirely,along with some slight darkening entire length of dw/dj's spine/backstrip.Dw/dj has been (at some stage) been sellotaped repaired internally in 3 places: a horizontal tear across the spine,front cover's gutter's edge of spine/backstrip and a strengthened closed tear repair to lower,front fold of inner flap of dw/dj.Top edges lightly toned,fore-edges similar but with sporadic foxing/spotting but still generally bright and clean; contents bright,tight,clean,solid and sound - near pristine - no dog-ear reading creases to any pages' corners,appears unread - apart from my own collation.Bright,crisp,clean, generally sharp-cornered,publisher's original plain red cloth boards with bright,crisp,blocked black ink printed letters to spine/backstrip and clean plain endpapers.UK,8vo HB+dw/dj,1st edn, 2nd imp,7-192pp [paginated] includes a prologue, Books 1+2 comprising 17 chapters each respectively; plus [unpaginated] half-title page with publisher's advert to its reverse,title page,and an epigram.Uncommon,possibly scarce as a 1st edn.Alternate title 'There Is a Tide' as published,in the USA.
