Chambers, Robert : Traditions of Edinburgh - 2 volumes

W C Tait, Princes Street, Edinburgh, 1825

Two volumes (complete). Both are in comfortable, contented condition. Robert Chambers was the brother of William, who set up his own publishing firm (that still lives on, and publishes the excellent Chambers Dictionary). The copies of the publication of 'Traditions of Edinburgh' were the last to be printed on William's first presses! Fully bound in leather. This is comfortably worn and buffed by handling and use. They are placid and sure. The contents of both are clean, clear. They have blotches of aging, some evidence of contented wear. The pages are most genial and convivial, confident and certain. fk. Book Condition: Very Good. Binding: Hardcover. Jacket: No Jacket

First Edition.
