Letter handwritten in black ink on beige paper. Adhered to lined paper. Datelined December 21, 1878 at 1215 I St., Washington, D.C. Letter measures 5" x 8." Paper measures 7 3/4" x 10 1/2." One page. Paper, letter, and handwriting are all clean and intact. Swan M. Burnett (1847-1906) was a physician, anthropologist, and husband of famed British American writer, Frances Hodgson Burnett (1849-1924). In this letter, Swan writes to a publisher about how Mrs. Burnett has already sold the rights to Mrs. Raymond for her book, That Lass o'Lowrie's. Swan says that since the rights have been sold, no one else can produce it. Letter is signed "Swan M. Burnett.". Manuscript. Book Condition: Collectible-Very Good. Binding: No Binding
