In this letter Burgoyne explains his conduct to his constituents in the face of orders from the King that he return to American and rejoin his captive army. The appendix contains the King's orders as transmitted by Lord Barrington, and Charles Jenkinson's letters, informing Burgoyne that the King accepted his resignation. Not in TPL or Lande.
