'The Sea of Adventure' tells how Jack, Lucy-Ann,Dinah (and Kiki the parrot,of course) go off for a holiday together, with their old friend Bill Smugs. Bill is in danger from his enemies. He must "disappear" for a while,so what could be better than to visit the lonely bird- islands on the far-off northern sea,in company with the four children and Kiki? And then,of course, they sail straight into Adventure! What is going on among these lonely islands? Bill can guess - and pays for for his guessing - and then the four children are left all alone on Puffin Island, expecting the enemy to come and capture them.Thrills and alarms, excitement and shocks come one after the other, until even the reader's heart begins to beat as fast as Lucy-Ann's.Kiki makes friends with Huffin and Puffin, the two tame puffins, and has as big a share in the adventure as anyone. An important and welcome addition to the Enid Blyton adventure canon for all Blyton fiction collectors/officianados.
