UK,8vo HB minus dw/dj,1st edn.[The penultimate and 7th of 8 adventures and all of them were illustrated by Stuart Tresilian.] VG.To front pastedown an owner's inked partial name+address,as front free endpaper has been clumsily removed,also removing a feathered proportion of front pastedown towards the spine/backstrip's gutter's edge fold/ crease.Top edges minimally and very faintly dust-soiled with minimal sporadic foxing/spotting and with lightest of any ageing,fore-edges also similarly aged but with a few blemishes and stain splashes; contents bright,tight,clean,solid and sound - virtually pristine - no dog-ear reading creases to any pages' corners, appears unread - apart from my own collation.Slightly grubbed upper and rear boards/covers; some mottled staining to rear board/ cover's lower edge and corner towards spine/backstrip's gutter's edge which has bled through to concomitant spot to rear pastedown internally.Generally, sharp-cornered with miniscule rubbing and fraying,publisher's original cream cloth bds with colour (blue+black) pictorial decorated front bd+spine with bright, crisp,stamped blue+black letters to same and plain,generally clean,white eps - described faults excepted.Spine/backstrip with slight but light darkening,with minimal,sporadic spotting/foxing (?) and without any splits,tears or any fraying. The penultimate story of the 'Adventure' series of 8.An exciting and mysterious story with lots of laughs for which Kiki the parrot is mainly responsible.The four children,Jack,Philip,Dinah and Lucy-Ann are here,as well as Gussy,a peculiar guest who lands everyone in trouble.A travelling circus,a castle,secret passages,midnight escapades and some really wizard adventures! An important and welcome addition to the Enid Blyton adventure story canon for all Blyton fiction collectors/officianados.
