First Edition. A very good copy indeed (light foxing to plates and engraved title) in contemporary 1/2 black morocco, marbled boards. A fine association copy having the ownership signature of P. Truter, Tulbagh at the head of the title page. P J Truter, noted Cape jurist, was Barrow's brother in law (See DSAB IV:663). The binding is certainly Cape colonial, being identical to simialr bindings found on various Cape political, government and theollogical publications of the 1830's and 1840's.
