In 1797 Andrew Lumisden (1720-1801) published ‘Remarks on the Antiquities of Rome and its Environs’ which was reprinted in 1812. Lumisden was in Rome from 1750 to 1769 and he was the principal secretary of Chevalier de St. George., (Pine-Coffin 750)
