A tiny hint of toning to the free endpapers. A virtually fine copy in very good non-price-clipped dust wrapper featuring a quite striking August von Briesen pictorial design, the wrapper lightly dust soiled at the rear panel with just a touch of chafing and creasing to the upper edge. A superb copy of the Scottish author's most celebrated novel. The original Paris edition was written after Maurice Girodias commissioned Trocchi to write smut for his Olympia Press imprint, where it appeared under the pseudonym 'Frances Lengel' and was Trocchi's third appearance under the Olympia banner, and the second using that particular nom-de-plume.
