Aldine Co.?; Democrats for Nixon : Two Original Campaign Bumper Stickers - "Kennedy" and "Democrats for Nixon"

Aldine Co.?; Democrats for Nixon, Los Angeles, CA?; Washington, D.C.

Two original campaign bumper stickers for John F. Kennedy or Robert F. Kennedy and Richard Nixon. Both stickers are printed on paper. Both are unused and still have the brown paper backing. Please note: their adhesion capability has not been tested. The Kennedy bumper sticker simply reads, "Kennedy," in neon orange lettering on a dark blue background. The Nixon bumper sticker has the slogan, "Democrats for Nixon," printed on a white background with "Democrats" in red lettering and "for Nixon" in blue lettering. No date, Kennedy sticker circa 1960 or 1968; Nixon sticker circa 1972. Both stickers are very clean and intact except for age toning and wrinkling. The Nixon sticker has more wrinkling. The Kennedy sticker has a few wrinkles and is almost Near Fine. Both are Very Good copies. A set of two campaign bumper stickers with one supporting John F. Kennedy or Robert F. Kennedy and the other supporting Richard Nixon. The Kennedy sticker has no identifying marks as to the year it was printed, so it was either for John F. Kennedy or Robert F. Kennedy. If the Kennedy sticker is for John F. Kennedy, it was possibly printed on the occasion of his 1960 presidential campaign. If the Kennedy sticker is for Robert F. Kennedy, it was possibly printed on the occasion of his 1968 presidential campaign. The Nixon sticker was published on the occasion of Nixon's 1972 presidential campaign as the organization, Democrats for Nixon, was founded in 1972 expressly to promote Nixon's re-election. Each sticker has copyright information printed in small lettering at the bottom. The Kennedy sticker reads, "Aldine Co., L. A. [Los Angeles?]," and has brief instructions on how to apply and remove the sticker. The copyright information on the Nixon sticker says it was paid for by the organization, Democrats for Nixon, as led by Chairman John B. Connally. At the time, Connally was also the U.S. Secretary of the Treasury. Connally had also served as the governor of Texas and U.S. Secretary of the Navy under John F. Kennedy. Even as a Democrat, Connally campaigned for Nixon after becoming disenchanted with the political platform of George McGovern, the Democratic presidential nominee in the 1972 election.. Ephemera. Book Condition: Collectible-Very Good. Binding: No Binding
