A Leaf From OPUS TRIVIUM - 1500

By Jean [John] Bromyard, an English theologian. Printed by Nicholas Wolff at Lyons in 1500. Nicholas Wolff, who is often confused with Georges Wolff, the Paris printer, was first a typefounder, and cast type for many well known printers before setting up his own press, which we first hear of in 1498. The book from which this leaf is taken shows great care both in page arrangement and in presswork. The fine gothic type employed, and the colored initials added by hand, give the page a close resemblance to the finer manuscripts of that day, as was, of course, intended. One agrees with the colophon wherein it is stated that this little book was printed "with art and industry". Approx. 5x8 inches, in very good condition.. Paper. Book Condition: Very Good. Binding: No Binding. Jacket: No Jacket Issued
