WRIGHT, Joseph (Edited by) : The English Dialect Dictionary, Being the Complete Vocabulary of All Dialect Words Still in Use, or Known to Have Been in Use During the Past Two Hundred Years

London: Henry Frowde, 1896

First Edition. 15 vols, bound from the parts, and including the supplement and the Dialect Grammar. A very good ex-library set in contemporary 1/2 calf, mostly pale tan, but with three vols in pale green, rubbed and worn, cloth sides, hinges cracked but intact, usual stamps and labels to fep's and preliminary leaves, library numbers foot spines, numbers on verso titles, else a clean tight copy of this monument to late Victorian scholarship. Some volumes are incorrectly labelled due to the binder picking up information from main volume title pages rather than looking at what was covered by the relevant parts, but the text runs on and is complete.
