Bright,crisp,clean,sharp-cornered,glossy, paper-covered card covers with the comic's name+BOOK in black-outlined yellow capital letters to a black background,the remainder of the title 'The' and 1975 printed in black,with colour pictorial artwork of TOPPER character TINY (the world's biggest dog) lying in front of a goalmouth as players try to remove him,as two teams of TOPPER characters try to play a game of football to front board,a black spine/backstrip with yellow capital letters,rear board colour cartoon illustration with TINY still lying in front of the goalmouth,players leaving the pitch as a boy holds a placard explainig match abandoned; with negligible shelf-wear,bumping,creasing - no nicks,tears or splts present.Colour pictorial cartoon illustrated endpapers with character having a boat race with Beryl cheating by using an outboard motor to front endpaper, rear endpapers illustrated with TINY picking up the other boat and racing to the finish line with the boat on his back. Top+fore-edges inevitably but slightly aged/toned; contents bright,tight,clean, solid and sound - no dog-ear readng creases to any pages' corners appears unread,apart from my own collation.UK,slim Qrto HB,no dw/dj - as issued,1st edn,92pp [unpaginated] includes colour pictorial comic strips/ stories,6 individual Puzzles and Catches pages,to Puzzle Page 4 the 3by3 word square has been attempted with soft pencil and is incomplete - but those on pp2 & pp6 are untouched,as are all the other teasers,riddles etc.,on the remaining pages. A really superb example in a higher grade than is usually encountered,therefore making ot fairly scarce as such. Some of the comic's cover's stalwart characters from the comic's inception until its cessation in 1990: Micky the Monkey, Nick Kelly, Beryl the Peril, Figaro, Sir Laughalot, Julius Cheese and Foxy,appear in this annual. 'THE TOPPER BOOK' was a British child's comic book/annual published from 1954 - 1994,to tie-in with the children's comic 'The Topper',a UK comic published by D. C. Thomson & Co.,Ltd.,that ran from 7 February 1953 to 15 September 1990,when it merged with 'The Beezer'. The first twelve editions were undated, and later books were published with the date of the following year on the cover, since they were traditionally published in the autumn and in time for Christmas gifts. Originally called THE TOPPER BOOK with no year at the end of its title,the book was printed in landscape format as opposed to portrait format - the traditional vertical shaped formats like like the BEANO and DANDY annuals.It changed to portrait in 1960.Although 'THE TOPPER' merged with 'The BEEZER' in 1990,the annual continued for a few years afterwards.The 1994 annual,published in 1993,was the last one - see my book ID rja969721 for an exceptional example.
