Many black and white illustrations and advertisements throughout magazine, complete. Cover and illustrations by Lawrence Stevens (1884-1960). Back cover has a message to ration food during the war (WWII) and an advertisement for Calvert whiskey. Pages are very clean and intact. Covers are clean and intact overall, but back cover has a chip in the upper-left corner. Famous Fantastic Mysteries was a science fiction and fantasy pulp magazine published from 1939-1953. This issue includes the following stories and features: "The Man Who Was Thursday (A Nightmare)" by G. K. Chesterton, "The Ghost Pirates" by William Hope Hodgson, "A.
