TEXTILES : JOURNAL OF THE SOCIETY OF DYERS AND COLOURISTS

(TEXTILES). THE JOURNAL OF THE SOCIETY OF DYERS AND COLOURISTS. Edited by W. M. Gardner. Bradford, England: Offices of the Society, 1927-28. Volumes 43 and 44. 26 parts; one for each month, and an index for each year. 4to., green paper wrappers. Internally clean, with the occasional dog-eared page. The condition of the wrappers varies from clean to lightly soiled; all show some discoloration in the area around the wire staples which bind the issues. Begun in 1884 (and continuing after 1949 as The Review of Textile Progress), The Journal of the Society of Dyers and Colourists was an important periodical of the commercial dyeing industry in England. The two years represented in this offering contain a variety of information relating to the development, testing, and patenting of commercial dye stuff as abstracted from British and foreign journals and patents. Also included are official notices, proceedings, and awards of the Society, and reviews of contemporary books and pamphlets.
