This sturdy, heavy volume of 718 pages has been much used. The brown waxed cover is unlettered and has been marked, worn and torn by age and use. The extremities are unworn but for the corners which have shelving wear. The back cover has shelving wear and scratches. The seams of the spine are cracked and worn. The spine has some wear to the head and foot. A previous owner has made some attempt to reinforce the body of the book to the spine with cloth tape. The back inside cover has been much affected by poor storage. The last few pages (advertisements)are stuck together to the cover. There is a large open crack down the spine crease at page 716. But, the body of the book is firmly attached. The paper trim edges are marked and worn by use. There are many folded diagrams and illustrations throughout the book, most of which have usage creases along folds and edges. The front pages have markings and usage and age discolouration marks. An attempt has been made to reinforce the title page edges. A previous ownership inscription is on the preface page. A page of tables - page 711 - is missing two-thirds from tearing. However, considering the considerable usage and age, the book is complete and is in generally good condition. All pages are clear and readable. The binding is firm. fk. Book Condition: Fair.
