Dark brown-grey medium weave smooth cloth with a handsome pictorial design to the spine and upper board, accompanied by gold and black lettering. Tips of corners and head and base of the spine lightly rubbed with a hint of light spotting throughout, but mostly just to margins. Tiny dealer plate to the front pastedown. A nice crisp copy. No dust wrapper, as issued. This impression consisted of 1000 copies. Twenty-nine essays, all bar one printed in periodicals prior to their book form publication.
