Herman and Augusta Rice were headlined as "The Musical Midgets and The Most interesting little people now before the public". Herman and Augusta Rice were entertainers and appeared at Harris' Mammoth Museum in Cincinnati in 1883, Keith and Batcheller's Mammoth Museum in Boston in 1884 and toured with P. T. Barnum in 1877. In this photograph Herman and Augusta, both lavishly dressed are leaning against a small table with a stack of books between them. Written on the back is, "Herman & Augusta Rice, Age 27 & 31."
