Whistler provides fourteen captioned plates, one in colour, and Forster-Knight seven plates; and there are a further nineteen chapter header and tail piece illustrations and vignettes, and a five panel fold-out sketch map at rear. One Forster-Knight plate is a little nicked and darkened at the edges, although the illustration itself is undamaged. Former owner details inked to the front pastedown.
