The periodical, which was an attempt to revive the Jewish enlightenment movement (the "Haskalah") , features numerous articles on religion, language, literary criticism and science, as well as vast literary content. Most articles are in Hebrew, save for a few that are written in Judeo-German (Hebrew transcription of German) .
