Original publisher's multicolored wrapper with red and gilt coloring on front cover that shows the Washington Redskins and Brooklyn Dodgers mascots. 7 3/4" x 10 3/4." Fifty-two pages, complete. Many illustrations and advertisements throughout magazine, complete. Center spread advertising Chesterfield cigarettes. Pages and covers are very clean and intact overall. A couple faint spots on front cover. Last two pages have a bit of tape and residual glue at the edges and corners. Latest scores and statistics and several articles included. The first article is "Brooklyn, Rated Strong Eastern Contender, Seeks Third Win at Redskins' Expense." In 1941, the Brooklyn Dodgers almost came into first place in the Eastern Division, only to be beaten by the New York Giants. Dodger Clarence "Pug" Manders won the NFL rushing title that season with 486 yards, and his record still maintains its standing as the smallest amount of yards to win this title. Warren Alfson and Merlyn Condit joined the Dodgers that season, and Jock Sutherland's campaigns in 1940 and 1941 would prove to be the most successful in the team's history.. Book.
