Pages and covers are very clean and intact except for age toning, a few small wrinkles and smudges, and ex-library marks in the form of a light, almost imperceptible stamp on front cover and punched letters in lower-right corner of front cover that read, "St. Hst. Lib, Spg. Ill." A Very Good copy. Bulletin No. 56, the June 1939 issue of the quarterly Bulletin of the Abraham Lincoln Association. The Abraham Lincoln Association (ALA) was founded in 1908 as the Lincoln Centennial Association. The ALA is still active to this day as a scholarly forum that focuses on the study of Abraham Lincoln. This issue contains an article, "In Defense of Mr. Justice Brown," by Harry E. Pratt and a movie review, "Young Mr. Lincoln" by Paul M. Angle. Pratt discusses the role Lincoln had in defending Supreme Court Justice Thomas C. Browne (1794-1858) who was accused in 1843 of incompetence and put on trial. Browne's name was eventually cleared. Angle reviews the movie, Young Mr. Lincoln (1939), starring Henry Fonda. Both Pratt and Angle were also editors of the Bulletin.. Book. Book Condition: Very Good. Binding: Soft cover
