Illustrated with 30 lithographic portraits of Union commanders. 148 pp., + [4] pp. publisher's advertisements; the text includes separate lists of Union and Rebel victories for the years 1861 and part of 1862. 16mo., original cloth, light brown, blind-stamped borders to boards and bands to spine, gilt-stamped title to upper board, yellow endpapers. Contemporary ink inscription to ffep. Text leaves and plate are clean and fresh; although one leaf (p.101-2) is creased with a small marginal chip. The cloth shows a few, faint spots of dampstaining; and it is worn through in small spots at crown, heel, and corners. The spine is lightly sunned and askew.
