The boards are rubbed, marked and edge worn. The spine is discoloured, but the gold gilt remains bright and cheery despite this. The dust jacket is very rubbed and worn, with large tears along the edges, particularly near the spine, where a tear extends halfway down the book's length. Despite this, it is whole, intact and legible. Internally, the front end page has been signed by a previous owner. and there is a previous retailer's book plate on the front pastedown. The front end page is discoloured and foxed. This foxing does not extend into the rest of the pages within, which remain crisp, clean and bright.
