A small area of staining to the fore edge (not impacting the leaves) and some light spotting to the endpapers. A very crisp and bright copy in marked and a little edgeworn non-price-clipped dust wrapper, with a short tear to the base of the rear panel and an accompanying crease, and a short yet jagged enclosed tear to the spine panel. Former owner name inked to the front endpaper. The first English-language edition of Nadeau's first book, his 'bible of surrealism' written and published under Nazi occupation in 1944.
