Rudolf "Rudi" Makkreel and Marcuse were colleagues in the Philosophy Department at the University of California at San Diego in the late 60s. Makkreel went on to become one of the preeminent scholars of German philosophy, especially Kant, Dilthey, and hermeneutics. Small ink marginal mark on page 29 else this is a tight, fine book in DJ with a 1/2" fold tear top of front panel and scattered rubbing. An uncommon book and scarce signed by Marcuse..
