1864. Four complete find binding hardcover volumes bound into Two Books (Vol's. I and II collected in one book; Vol. III and IV collected in the other book). NOT FACSIMILES OR RECENT REPRINTS; THESE ARE THE 1864 EDITIONS. Vol I and II: 359 pages; Vol. III and IV: 391 pages. Three-quarter tan leather bound, marbled paper, raised ridges on spine (lettering and decorative works in compartments). All edges marbled and marbled endpapers. Condition of Vol's I and II book: Heavy rubbing, abrasion, chips, small pieces missing, mostly at spine and joints; corners showing a tad. Short tear to first hinge, crack at first endpaper and first blank. Former owner's bookplate on first pastedown of endpaper and small price sticker to rear endpaper. Heavy foxing to blank pages front and rear of text block. Vol III and IV book: Wear, chips, abrasion, and pieces missing, mostly at spine and extremity of first cover. Corners showing. It appears the top cover had been detached, but re-attached. Bookplate and sticker on endpapers (same as other book). Foxing to blank pages, front and rear of text block. Overall, both books are in Good condition. Text is clean, clear, and very readable -- free of page tears and signs of insect infestation and in Very Good condition. Not former library books or facsimiles. This is the history of England, from the Accession of James the Second.
