This notebook details in Lt. Horton's own handwriting information the new officer requires; chain of command, operational structure, marching instructions, materials inventory, daily schedule etc. etc. There are also notes of a personal nature as Lt. Horton made lists to help remind him of duties and appointments. Here's a snippett: "REPORTING TO AN OFFICER FROM A HIGHER HQS: When any Ofcr such as a Major, or higher appears on any instructional area, Senior Officer NOT actually engaged in the work, double times up to him and halts etc., and salutes saying: "Sir, Lt.
