Notably, Lewis was a co-founder of the Vorticist art and literary movement, which was similar to Futurism. Both Vorticism and Futurism in art are identifiable by bold, seemingly harsh lines with a mechanical quality; such artworks pay homage to modernity and the avant-garde.
