Original display advertising for twenty-six businesses in Sutter Creek and Ione, California and original letter handwritten in black ink by E. H. Lewis. Advertisements on one side of the beige stationery; handwritten letter on the other. Printed text was done by "Record Print, Sutter Creek. Cal." Letter is dated November 16, 1898. 8 1/2" x 11." Two pages (one leaf), complete. Paper is very clean and intact. Paper was folded in half horizontally at the center and in thirds vertically. A few small chips are at the top and bottom of the paper, not affecting text or handwriting. The display advertising provides information primarily on Sutter Creek businesses. The business letter written on the front of the stationery is from E. H. Lewis to Ida M. Lewis. E. H. Lewis writes that he cannot pay Ida Lewis the money he owes her, that "Frank is running this business," and that he now lives in Mokelumne Hill, California.. Manuscript.
