Program for a performance of Mister Roberts by Tod Andrews and New York Company at the Sacramento High School Auditorium. Mister Roberts (1946) is a novel by Thomas Heggen. It was based on the real-life experiences of Heggen aboard the USS Rotanin and USS Virgo in the South Pacific theater during World War II. Heggen and Joshua Logan later adapted Mister Roberts into a play of the same name in 1948. The play and novel were both a resounding success.. Ephemera. Book Condition: Collectible-Very Good.
