There are two previous owner ex-libris plates (William Duncan Baxter and Henry John Hustler). The inside pastedown has a label recording that the book was donated to the UCT Library from the Estate of Dr W Duncan Baxter (the legendary Capetonian and former Mayor). A much used copy that, despite its usage and age, is benign and patient. The boards are firm with some scuffing, wear and marks. They are sound. The frontis and end papers are tanned from age.
