Brochure is virtually pristine and intact except for light age toning. A Fine copy. James Russell Lowell (1819-1891) was an American poet, editor, literary critic, and diplomat. Lowell was associated with the Romantic literary movement and was one of the Fireside Poets whose popularity rivaled that of British contemporaries. This brochure promotes Lowell's upcoming book, Political Essays (1888), as sold by the Leggat Brothers of New York. The main ad for Political Essays contains a brief description of the book as well as the book's specifications and price.
