One of the most remarkable photography books on Wisconsin. The First Edition in its Second Printing. Published in a tiny first print run as a softcover original only. There is no ISBN. The First Edition is now rare. An austerely elegant production by David Heubner and Lewis Koch: Oversize-volume format. White pictorial softcovers with black titles on the cover and spine, as issued. Photographs by Lewis Koch and other contributing Wisconsin artists. Text and poetry by various contributors. Printed on pristine-white, archival stock paper in the United States to the highest standards. Without DJ, as issued. Presents "Wisconsin Images: Wisconsin Artists Working In The Arts". The Badger State captured by her very best artists in memorable photographs of her people, places, landscapes, and everything else in-between. "Try to experience Wisconsin as though it was a state of your own self. Feel its rivers course through your veins and arteries, its forests rise like hairs from your flesh. Hear its people speak with the voices of your own thoughts. Consider its industries to be as diverse as your body's organs. With your senses thus primed, attempt to evoke the Wisconsin Experience" (Introductory Essay). Koch is an artist's artist who makes photographic works, site-specific installations, and sculptural assemblage. He has exhibited extensively throughout the United States, Canada, and Europe, in which countries his work is in the Permanent Collections of major museums. He isn't as well-known as Ed Ruscha (although he deserves to be). Like Ruscha, he makes his own Artist Books from scratch: From concept to image to design to full realization. An absolute "must-have" title for Lewis Koch collectors. This copy is very prominently, neatly, and beautifully signed, placed, and dated in black ink-pen on the title page by the artist/photographer: "Lewis Koch Madison, WI 2016". It is signed directly on the page itself, not on a tipped-in page. This title is now collectible. As far as we know, this is the only such signed, placed, and dated copy of the First Edition/Second Printing available online and is in especially fine condition: Clean, crisp, and bright, a pristine beauty. A rare signed copy thus. Some of the most brilliant American artist/photographers of our time. A fine copy. (SEE ALSO OTHER LEWIS KOCH AND ED RUSCHA TITLES IN OUR CATALOG). ISBN B001NFZ0UQ.
