[2], 34 page Genealogies bound in to front with broad woodcut border and decorative head and tailpieces plus engraved illustrations. Engraved pictorial general title page and New Testament title page both with woodcut illustrations representing the tents and shields of the 12 tribes, the 12 apostles, and the 4 evangelists with title and date in a heart shape at the centre. Old Testament pagination: Title page, A2 - [Ss6], Apocrypha [Ss7]- Eee2. New Testament [Eee3] -[Sss8]. The Concordances [A1]- L. 8 pages at end of Isaiah and the start of Jeremiah over the 4 leaves Kk2, Kk3, [Kk6] and [Kk7] damaged to margins with some loss of text, Kk4 andc Kk5 are missing. 2 pages - end of Habakkuk and start of Zephaniah also damaged to margins and lacking a portion by inner hinge. Text in Black letter. Handsomely bound in 17th century brown calf dated 1693 (Very engagingly the 6 has been printed in reverse) to both boards which also bear the initials T and M. The calf is beautifully decorated in blind. All edges stained with red. The Bible has been very sympathetically rebacked with new endpapers by Sotheran of Sackville Street, London.
