INFORMATION SERVICE SOUTH AFRICA (PRINSLOO, C.W. Chairperson Editorial Committee) : Bantoe/Bantu: An Informal Publication of the Department of Native Affairs. No.2 February 1957

The Information Service, Pretoria, 1957

A fine copy in the original printed wrappers as issued. A fascinating document of Apartheid just at the point when Verwoerrd became the Minister of Bantu Affairs. Numerous illustrations showing happy black people, as well as contributions by some black letter writers and others to tell everyone how much they appreciated what was being done for them..... The gem in this particular issue is in a letter allegedlty by one L. T. Nefale, which contains the following statement: "The Bantu did not actually know his position in this country, but suddenly there emerged the best leader of the Bantu race, the Honourable Dr. Verwoerd". The letter goes on to praise the Union Native Affairs Department and what it has done for the Bantu.
