To which is prefixed The Life of Mrs. Hutchinson, written by herself, a fragment. 2 volumes. 8vo; original cloth-backed papered boards with paper spine labels; pp. (iv) + xxvi + 348, (iv) + 384; engraved frontis. portrait in each case, a topographical plate, folding plan of Nottingham Castle and folding genealogical table and facsimile. The 16-page publisher's catalogue sewn in between the front endpapers of the first volume is dated April 1840. Covers rather worn and somewhat soiled; paper lifting from upper board of second volume; note pasted to front pastedown of first book; sporadic light foxing; some discreet pencilled marginal annotations. Good internally; fair condition overall.
