Original portrait photo postcard (3 1/4 x 5 1/2 inch) showing a young and handsome Hinckley seated and reading a manuscript. Inscription below portrait: "Hello Doc - Let me know where you are to be in the summer. Kiss benno for me. Hinck", Back side addressed to Dr. Hugh Schussler, Berlin, Germany with two one cent stamps and postmarked Feb 10, 1911 - New York. Allen Hinckley (1877-1954) was an American bass baritone singer who trained in New York under Oscar Saenger. Debut at Hamberg Opera in 1903, guest at the Bayreuth Festivals, 1906-1908, then a member of the Metropolitan Opera, 1908-1914. Dr. Hugh Schussler was a medical doctor who gave up medicine to be an opera singer (died 1916 @ age 38). Slight bend to top right corner.. Photographic Image. Book Condition: Collectible-Very Good.
