This book traces the development of
Greek civilisation from the early creation myths,the appearance of language,and the epics and early thinkers through to the philosophers of the classical period.Each development is compared with Hindu civilisation,for the author maintains that the European tradition is strictly Indo- European,in terms alike of language,
synbolism and philosophy.
This comparative approach reveals a wealth of concordances between the two civilizations,which in turn provides further insight into both traditions.The origins and periodic disasters of the world,the early rituals,the epic oral traditions,the insights of the prophets and bards,the gods,the soul,birth and death and realization of the divinity of man himself are revealed afresh.
