Jane Younger has also added her name and address to the next blank page. Colour frontis and b/w illustrations Generally a clean and sound copy but boards very soiled and foxed. Lorna Hill was married to the vicar at Matfen Church, Matfen, Northumberland. Mrs. Jean/Jane Harrison, a local farmer's wife, attended this church and beacame a friend to Lorna, as did Jane's daughter Elsie. The book was inscribed to Jane, the daughter of Elsie and the grand-daughter of Jean. Nearly every year between 1948 and 1961 she received a signed copy of Hill's latest work.
