There are oceans of things you can try to be like, - A bird in a tree or a boy on a bike. But whatever you copy, please don't try and be That frightful young 'headache' - that bad Marjorie! L. H." Also stuck down to inside of front cover is a piece of blue paper with the signed inscription "With very much love from the author, Lorna Hill." Jane Younger has also added her name and address to the next blank page. Colour frontis and b/w illustrations Generally a clean and sound copy but boards very soiled and foxed. Lorna Hill was married to the vicar at Matfen Church, Matfen, Northumberland. Mrs. Jean/Jane Harrison, a local farmer's wife, attended this church and beacame a friend to Lorna, as did Jane's daughter Elsie. The book was inscribed to Jane, the daughter of Elsie and the grand-daughter of Jean. Nearly every year between 1948 and 1961 she received a signed copy of Hill's latest work. We are happy to provide a copy of the hand-written letter of provenance signed by Jane L. Mowbray, née Younger, with this book.
